Dr. Lefkothea Karaviti, MD, PhD, is a double board-certified pediatric endocrinologist, trained at Cornell and UCLA, providing evidence-based care for children and adolescents in Denver and surrounding communities. She has spent decades helping families navigate concerns related to growth, puberty, thyroid and adrenal conditions, and complex hormone-related differences, guiding parents and children with clarity, steadiness, and compassion.
To the families she works with, she is simply “Dr. K”—and to many who have known her for years, Lefke.
Dr. Karaviti is internationally recognized for her pioneering work in Disorders of Sex Development (DSD), having supported thousands of families facing some of pediatric medicine’s most sensitive diagnoses. She founded the first comprehensive DSD program in the United States at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, establishing a multidisciplinary, family-centered model of care so parents never have to navigate difficult decisions alone.
