Dr. Lefkothea Karaviti, MD, PhD, is a pediatric endocrinologist providing compassionate, evidence-based care for children and adolescents in Denver and surrounding communities. Dr. Karaviti is a double board-certified pediatric endocrinologist who has spent decades helping families navigate concerns about growth, puberty, thyroid and adrenal conditions, and more complex hormone-related differences. Throughout her career, she has guided children and parents through these challenges with clarity, patience, and genuine compassion.
To the families she works with, she is simply “Dr. K”—and to those who have come to know her over the years, Lefke.
Dr. Karaviti is internationally recognized for her pioneering work in Disorders of Sex Development (DSD) and has supported thousands of families facing some of pediatric medicine’s most sensitive and complex diagnoses. She founded the first comprehensive DSD program in the United States at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, helping create a multidisciplinary, family-centered model of care so parents never have to navigate difficult decisions alone.
